RECORDING

ENGINEERING A SESSION AT STUDIOBLUE: $210 for a three-hour session

REMOTE ENGINEERING: CONTACT ME FOR QUOTATION. IT DEPENDS. NORMALLY EXPECT THREE-HOUR SETUP, ONE-HOUR TEARDOWN, AND THEN HOURLY RATES DURING RECORDING.

AUDIO BOOKS AND VOICE OVER

We have an isolation room and a control room, both treated, which serve as comfortable locations to record long voice or short voice projects.

VO work is normally charged at the same rates as music. Assume a 30-minute orientation and one hour mic selection experience for the first session. If COVID is a concern, we will use our isolation room. If COVID is not a concern, we can use the control room as an option. In all cases, the engineer will be masked when in the same room as the client or talent.

Audio books are larger projects and are normally contracted separately. Re-work and approvals, as well as validating deliverable formats, are specialized in the audio book realm, so our contracts spell out our mutual responsibilities and timelines for decision-making, so there are minimal bumps and expectations are met.

Audio book quality often depends on having an experienced voice actor. If you would like recommendations, let’s discuss your project. We have a growing list of voice actors we can recommend. They may be just right for you.

MIXING

WE MIX AT $60/hour. DISCOUNTS MAY APPLY FOR LARGER PROJECTS.

PRE-MASTERING

WE PREPARE TRACKS FOR MASTERING ENGINEERS OR MASTERING PLATFORMS at $75/hour.

COVER ART DESIGN

WE CREATE COVER ART FOR STREAMING AND CD DISTRIBUTION USING INDUSTRY-STANDARD TEMPLATES TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE.

FOR PRINTED CD-COVERS, OUR PRICE STARTS AT $150. FOR STREAMING-ONLY COVERS, OUR PRICE STARTS AT $90. STREAMING DISTRIBUTION THUMBNAILS ARE FREE WITH A CD-COVER PACKAGE. ACTUAL PRICE DEPENDS ON THE NUMBER OF REVISIONS.

MASTERING

WE CAN PROVIDE FINAL MASTERS FOR STREAMING AND CD PRODUCTION. WE DO NOT MASTER FOR VINYL. WE ALSO WORK WITH SOME OF THE AREA’S BEST MASTERING ENGINEERS. IF YOUR GENRE DESERVES MASTERING WE CANNOT DO, WE WILL MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE VERY BEST.

ARRANGING

WE CAN EITHER ARRANGE YOUR SONGS OR WORK WITH AREA PRODUCERS TO GET THEM ARRANGED TO MEET YOUR GOALS.

OUR ARRANGEMENTS ARE NOTATED IN MUSESCORE, ALLOWING TRANSPOSITIONS, PART EXTRACTION, AND DETAILED PERFORMANCE ROADMAPS.
